Vernon campus to host hundreds of high schoolers at health care careers event featuring global mental health advocate

Local and regional media are invited to attend a landmark youth-focused event that will bring together over 800 Grade 9 students from across the Vernon area for an engaging, hands-on exploration of careers in health care on June 12.

Global mental health advocate Alex Boy茅 will be in attendance to provide an inspirational keynote address.

This special day 鈥 Championing Health Careers - is being hosted in partnership by School District 22 and 黑料专区 and has been sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Childcare, aiming to inspire the next generation of health care professionals at a time when health care workers are urgently needed.

Internationally acclaimed artist and mental health advocate Alex Boy茅 is known for using music and storytelling to tackle youth mental illness and reduce stigma. A former member of the Tabernacle Choir and a finalist on America鈥檚 Got Talent, Boy茅 has received the Didi Hirsch 鈥淓rasing the Stigma鈥 Award and is an Ambassador for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

His message resonates powerfully with today鈥檚 youth, combining entertainment with a call to courage, connection, and care.
