Kyla started in OC’s AET program in 2020. She taught in the public school system since 1993 in a variety of roles specializing in students with diverse abilities.  She is very happy to now be teaching adult learners in a variety of subjects using her experiences and knowledge gained over the years. She believes in an interactive classroom with lots of discussion and use of individual creativity and thought. Her philosophy is to make everyone feel they belong and that they can contribute.

I have been an instructor with ºÚÁÏרÇø for the past 9 years with Continuing Studies and am so excited to begin with the AET program. Alongside with working at the ºÚÁÏרÇø, I have been supporting individuals with diversabilities for the past 11 years. I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths and building self esteem.

I moved to the Shuswap with my husband and here we have been lucky to raise our three children and wide variety of pets. When I'm not working, I love to spend time with family and friends and be out on the water in my happy place as often as I can.

I am excited to be part of the OC AET program for the upcoming school year! I have taught in the public school system since 1992 in a variety of roles, teaching from Kindergarten to grade 10 and then moving into specializing in working with students with diverse abilities. I am excited to have an opportunity to teach adult learners and help them recognize their strengths and build their skills. I believe in inclusion and focusing on strengths while learning new concepts. I am excited to bring humor, fun and new learning to the classroom!

I joined the OC AET program in 2025 after completing careers in the RCMP, and City of Kelowna. My favorite duties included teaching frontline officers, supervisors, and managers law enforcement, bylaw enforcement, and BC Basic Security Training. I found great satisfaction seeing officers grow in their roles, acquire promotions and become more effective in their duties. I bring those skills and experience to my role as education liaison. My teaching philosophy is to have fun learning while placing great value on storytelling. I consider it a privilege to live in Kelowna, enjoy an encore career at OC with so much meaning and purpose, and to support the best students in the B.E.S.T program.

My credentials are a certificate in online eLearning instruction and design, BC Provincial Instructor Diploma, and Master’s in Education (adult education).

I am an Individual Support Worker at ºÚÁÏרÇø. I have worked with students in Adult Special Education for 20+ years. I support students in regular ASE classes as well as students in the SAME Program.

I began teaching at the ºÚÁÏרÇø Kelowna campus in 2021 and I have several years of experience filling various educational and family support roles within the Okanagan diversabilities community. My priority is making learning fun and accessible, with an emphasis on FUN!

I am excited to join ºÚÁÏרÇø in the AET program! I have over 10 years of experience teaching in K-9 and post-secondary education. Most recently, I spent 3 years working at NorQuest College in Edmonton, AB working with adult learners and loved it! I moved to the Okanagan in 2020 and enjoy exploring the area with my husband, two daughters and our dog, Lucy.
