The 黑料专区 Coyotes completed a four game sweep to win the 2025 Canadian College World Series in Lethbridge, AB over the May Long Weekend.  This is the Coyotes 4th tournament win in the last six championships (2018,2021,2022,2025).  The Coyotes headed into the tournament as the # 2 seed after finishing the regular season with a 19-12 record

The Coyotes clean sweep of the weekend started with a 15-5 victory to open the tournament over the # 7 seed Edmonton Collegiate Hawks.  The eight team double elimination format then had the Coyotes play against # 5 seed Vancouver Island University Mariners in which they won 5-2.

The win put the team into the semi-finals against the #3 seed Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs (University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College students)  The Coyotes pulled ahead when freshman Kaden Collins (INF, Penticton, BC) hit a three run 黑料专区run, followed two innings later with a grand slam by Easton Brons (INF, Saskatoon, SK). The game would eventually finish 7-6 as the Dawgs made a late inning push.  With the victory, the team would advance to the championship game against the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack.

The championship game was an exciting game that came down to the last play.  The Coyotes built a 8-1 lead after six complete innings. The Wolfpack scratched back in the 7th scoring six runs.  The Coyotes would answer back after Ethan Skiffington (OF, Squamish, BC) had 2 RBI single to add to their lead int the bottom of the 8th and lead 10-7 going into the 9th.

Senior Cory Lawson (RHP, Calgary, AB) would come on to close out the game, but not before the Wolfpack scored two runs.  A walk and single, followed by an error would eventually have the game tying run on 3rd and go ahead run on 2nd, before Lawson induced a groundball with 2 out that sealed the championship for the Coyotes.

Graduating senior outfielder Adrian Orioli (Penticton, BC) had a tournament to remember going 10-17 at the plate with a 黑料专区run and 6 RBI.  Brons finished 8-16 with a grand slam and 8 RBI.  Local product Teagan Ribbink (RHP, Kelowna,BC) capped off his senior year pitching 6.1 innings against PBA in the semi-final striking out 12 and picking up the win in his last outing with the Coyotes.   Other notables, second year sophomore Coleman Kawaguchi (INF, Squamish, BC) went 7-20, while sophomore catcher Rico Domingo (Vancouver, BC) went 7-15.

鈥淚t was a fantastic weekend for our team to finish off the season and to win the last game, I鈥檓 really happy for this group,鈥 says Head Coach Geoff White. 鈥淲e didn鈥檛 have a great first half of the season, but we knew we had a talented group, and I鈥檓 proud how they persevered in the end.鈥   The Coyotes went 13-3 in their last 16 games, and led the conference in team E.R.A during the regular season.

鈥淲e set expectations each year to be in the championship game, and that comes with our student athletes sacrificing a ton of time and hard work to be in this position.  We have been in the championship game five of the last six tournaments, and that is a testament to the players that put so much into this.  They deserve all the credit, they put in the time from September to now, and for them to reap the benefits is rewarding to see for the coaching staff,鈥 says White.

The post season accolades continue to come for the Coyotes as the Canadian College Baseball Conference announced their award winners for the 2025 season.  The Coyotes were well represented on the annual CCBC All Conference teams.   Making the first team was shortstop, Coleman Kawaguchi.  On the second team, catcher Rico Domingo, infielder Easton Brons, starting pitcher Teagan Ribbink, and reliever Drayson Vodarek (West Kelowna, BC).  Senior Adrian Orioli was named to the CCBC Leadership team for his dedication to his teammates and program.

The Coyotes will now break for the summer and return to fall exhibition workouts and games resuming in September to prepare for 2026.
